Booking Terms & Conditions
Please ensure you read these carefully before boarding your dog with us.
1.Bookings are only confirmed upon conformation from ourselves.
2. To secure your booking you will need to pay a 20% deposit. We accept cash, card - in person or over the phone, or bank transfer. This deposit is non-refundable if booking is cancelled 14 days or less prior to arrival date. This deposit is also non-refundable for bookings over Christmas and New Year period due to this being our busiest time of the year.
3. Un-cancelled bookings will be liable for full payment.
4. There is an extra charge of £10 per day on both Christmas Day and New Years Day. We are closed for drop off/pick ups on both Christmas Day and New Years Day.
5. We can administer most medications your dog may be on during their stay with us upon completion of a Medical Permission Form. We must be made aware of any medical conditions your pet may have before they stay with us. Please discuss this at time of booking.
6. All walks are done on site, round the fields or in our private wood. No dogs will be walked off lead unless an Off Lead Disclaimer has been signed.
7. The kennels are heated with underfloor heating and each kennel is equipped with either a HiK9 raised dog bed or plastic bed, and vet bedding. You are more than welcome to bring your dogs own bed, toys etc to help make their stay more comfortable, however these are left at your own risk. Glenhead Kennels cannot be held liable for any damages etc. We do request that no squeaky toys or rawhide bones are left.
8. We recommend supplying your dogs own food for his/her stay with us as this helps avoid any upset tummies. However if you do not wish to do this, we can provide Burns Original Adult Dog Food at a supplementary fee of £2 per meal.
9. Only dogs from the same household are permitted to share a kennel. Please be mindful that our kennels are much smaller than the space your dogs are most likely used to sharing. Any dogs boarded together are boarded at the owners own risk. We can separate dogs who are kennelled together at feeding time. Please let us know if this will be required.
10. By signing this form you are giving consent for boarding dogs from the same family to share a kennel. Glenhead Kennels reserves the right to separate dogs boarded together at our discretion. Please note this would incur an additional cost, for the additional kennel which will be liable for full payment at time of collection. In the event we do not have a spare kennel we will contact yourself or your emergency contact to arrange early collection of one, or more dogs.
11. Behavioural issues. We do cater for all dogs and understand that a lot of dogs have things they do and don’t like. Please be as honest and transparent as possible with any issues your dog might have when booking your dog in. We highly recommend booking a trial day or night stay first, before any longer stays. In the event your dog is unhappy or stressed then we will be honest and let you know. Even although we are a small boarding kennels, the kennel environment isn’t suited for every dog and we will let you know if we feel that is the case with yours.
12. All dogs staying at Glenhead Kennels must be up to date with vaccinations, including Distemper, Hepatitis and Leptospirosis. You must bring proof of vaccination with you when you drop off your dog.
13. Kennel cough vaccine is not compulsory to stay at Glenhead Kennels. It is entirely your decision as to whether or not to vaccinate your dog for this, as the vaccine does not provide protection against all of the strains of the virus that can cause this condition. A dog may become ill even if he/she has been vaccinated. If you decide to have your dog vaccinated for kennel cough, they must have had treatment at least three weeks before arrival date. We will not accept dogs who have had the vaccination within the last three weeks of date of arrival as they can shed the virus and spread the condition. In this instance full payment for booking will still be required.
14. In the event that your dog falls ill at all or suffers any kind of injury, Glenhead Kennels reserves the right to seek veterinary treatment/advice at our discretion. Every effort will be made to contact the owner/emergency contact first but where contact cannot be made we reserve the right to make that decision. Where possible your dogs own vets will be contacted first, however when this is not possible or practical, we reserve the right to seek treatment/advice from our own vets – Seafield Veterinary Practice, Keith. Please notify your vets that you are leaving your dog in our care and give them permission to speak to us and/or treat your dog in your absence.
15. Dogs must be dropped off/collected during our opening times. These are 9.15am-10.15am and 4pm-5pm 7 days a week (with the exception of Christmas Day and New Years Day). We understand things come up and delays can happen but we do ask for you to let as know as soon as possible of any delays/changes to the times stated. We reserve the right to charge a late collection fee for dogs not dropped off/collected during our opening times. All dogs must be kept on a lead whilst being dropped off or collected. Please be mindful that we cater for all dogs, many of which are reactive.
16. Any dog not collected within 7 days of the agreed collection date, with no contact from the owner or emergency contact will become the property of Glenhead Kennels where they be rehomed thereafter.
17. Prices stated are for one day and night, regardless of drop off time. Any dog being collected during our 4pm-5pm slot on departure day will be charged the full rate for that day. Payment for your dogs stay must be settled before the dog leaves the premises.
18. Please note the premises are monitored by 24hour CCTV and the main gate is locked outwith opening times.
